Frequently Asked Questions

Notarization is the process whereby a Notary certifies a document. Usually this is done by attaching a notarial certificate to the document. The notarial certificate contains statements of fact or law in relation to the document being certified.

Yes. Since we provide virtual service, all appointments must be booked and confirmed at least 15 minutes before the desired appointment time.

A remote notary is a legally commissioned notary public who is authorized to conduct notarizations over the internet via digital tools and a live audio video call.
All notaries, no matter how they perform their service, must watch as someone signs a document. Historically, this has required that the notary and signer must travel to meet one another in-person where the notary serves as a witness during the signing event.
The name “remote notary” is derived from the fact that the notary serves the customer remotely over the internet.

Online notarizations are accepted across the country due to a long-standing body of laws in each state that specifically provides for recognition and acceptance of out-of-state notarizations. In addition to laws in each state recognizing and accepting common out-of-state notarizations, the Full Faith and Credit Clause of the US Constitution may provide an additional basis for states to accept out of state notarizations.
Certain states and public agencies have specific additional requirements and limitations for executing and/or accepting electronically-signed documents and out-of-state notarizations, and not all documents may be electronically-signed. We always recommend checking with your intended recipient to confirm their acceptance of online notarizations.

You can access your remote online notarization using a smart phone or tablet with audio and video capabilities and internet access.  If you do not have a computer, tablet, or smart phone, we recommend borrowing one from a trusted friend or family member.  The notarization will only take approximately 15 to 30 minutes.

We can provide a remote witness for an additional $40.00 or you can provide a remote witness for free. If you provide a remote witness, we will require a copy of his or her identification and email address. It is strongly recommended that the witness not be a relative, either by blood or marriage.
In some cases, it may also not be permissible to use a relative as a witness, so we also recommend consulting an attorney before providing a relative as a witness.

YES. We can notarize documents remotely online for individuals physically located anywhere in the World provided he or she meet the requirements in accordance with Florida Law.

In the State of Florida, we may accept an expired Driver License as a valid form of identification as long as the expiration date does not exceed 5 years from the time of the notarization.

Our notarization sessions strongly rely on the signer cooperation but our standard agenda for remote notarizations are as follows:

  1. One to Three documents with a single signer can take up to thirty minutes;
  2. Three to six documents with single or multiple signers take up to sixty minutes;
  3. Multiple documents with multiple signers such as real estate closings, pre-nuptial or post-nuptial agreements can take up to 90 minutes.

How It Works

Now, with remote online notarizations, signers and witnesses are no longer required to be in the same room – or even the same state – as the notary. Due to interstate recognition practices, a remotely notarized document may be used in other states, just as with a traditional notarization.

Step 1

The signer contacts the Notary or a RON service provider to request a remote online notarization. The signer's document is then sent to the Notary so it can be signed and notarized. Typically, the document is uploaded in an electronic format such as PDF to the online technology platform used to perform the notarization.

Step 2

The signer's identity is screened according to the requirements of the Florida standards. This may include answering questions based on the signer's personal and credit history (KBA), verifying the signer's identification documents online (credential analysis), the Notary remotely viewing the signer's ID during the notarization, or other RON identification methods set by statute.

Step 3

Once the signer's identity has been verified and all other requirements for the notarization have been completed, both the signer and the Notary must sign the document and the Notary's seal attached. For electronic documents, this requires electronic signatures and an electronic version of the Notary's seal.
